"Come, Come, whoever you are
Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving,
it doesn't matter
Ours is not a caravan of despair
Even if you have broken your vows
A thousand times it doesn’t matter
Come, yet again, come"

Performances of Rumi's Poetry and Stories

Though rooted in 13th Century Islamic culture, Rumi’s universality of spirit transcends creeds, lands, and even time, and is a profound voice of inspiration to our true humanity. His passionate, wise, and beautiful words still have a remarkable ability to touch contemporary audiences - firing the imagination and nourishing the heart.

Accomplished actors and storytellers, Ashley & Duncan capture the spirit of the great man bringing Rumi’s words and spirit alive in a way that many people have found deeply moving, even transforming.  Their unique performances leave audiences in no doubt why Rumi’s inspired words are so widely read in the West, 800 years after his birth.

Ashley Ramsden and Duncan Mackintosh were the first UK speakers of Coleman Barks’ translations of Rumi.
They have taken the stories and poems to Rumi to audiences in Britain, Europe, South Africa and America, justly earning recognition as two of the foremost speakers of Rumi’s work. Various musicians, including renowned figures such as Kudsi Ergena and Hossein Omoumi, have accompanied them.
